What to expect

As an OT Security Engineer, you are responsible for the planning, protection, and technical implementation of OT networks in critical infrastructure, particularly in wind farms and airports. You design and implement standards-compliant network and security architectures in accordance with IEC 62443 and ensure secure connectivity to IT infrastructures, especially AWS.
You act as the technical interface between IT, customers, project management, and installation teams, ensuring that all solutions are implemented securely, scalable, auditable, and with operational stability—from network segmentation and firewall and VPN concepts to the integration of SCADA systems.

 

 

Your profile

  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, completed vocational training in a related field, or a comparable practical qualification
  • Relevant professional experience in the OT environment (industry or critical infrastructure)
  • Very good knowledge of IEC 62443, OT network architecture, SCADA environments, firewall systems, and VPN technologies (e.g., IPsec, WireGuard, OpenVPN, OPNsense, pfSense)
  • Good to very good knowledge of cloud and network architectures in AWS (VPC, routing, security, hybrid connectivity)
  • Experience with security and compliance requirements (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIS2)
  • Very good German and English language skills
  • High level of personal responsibility and a strong hands-on mentality
  • Confident, professional demeanor when dealing with customers and partners
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and understandably
  • Structured way of working and clean technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel for projects and customer appointments
