What to expect

The Surveying Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for the professional surveying and documentation of technical ProTecBird installations in wind farms, at airports, and at other operational sites. The objective is to accurately capture all relevant spatial, topographical, and infrastructural conditions to ensure the optimal placement and functionality of the systems. Furthermore, the actual mounting position of the camera systems—including their geographic location and spatial orientation—must be surveyed post-installation to ensure that subsequent real-time geographic position calculations of detected objects are as precise as possible.

• Conducting site surveys at wind farms, airports, and similar infrastructure facilities in accordance with established surveying standards
• Creating survey records, site plans, as-built drawings, and technical documentation to serve as a basis for system planning
• Evaluating installation sites and mounting positions regarding camera fields of view, angular coverage, and the optimal functionality of ProTecBird systems
• Documenting the actual physical installation of camera systems as executed on-site
• Coordinating with Project Management and Operations to jointly determine suitable mounting and system positioning strategies
• Ensuring that all relevant areas of the site under surveillance can be fully and technically effectively covered by the camera systems or other sensors
• Processing and preparing survey results for internal planning, technical approvals, and project-specific documentation
• Contributing to the standardization of surveying and documentation processes for various operational environments
• Assisting with on-site inspections, project preparations, and technical clarifications involving clients, partners, and relevant specialist agencies

Your profile

• Completed university degree in Surveying, Geodesy, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a completed vocational training/certification in Surveying Technology
• Professional experience in technical surveying, site assessment, or project-related as-built documentation
• Experience in conducting and analyzing technical survey measurements
• Proficiency in handling horizontal, vertical, and as-built data
• Experience in creating technical documentation, site plans, and survey records
• Experience with surveying, GIS, or CAD software
• A highly precise, structured, and responsible approach to work
• Strong technical aptitude and spatial reasoning skills
• The ability to document complex site conditions clearly and comprehensibly
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to undertake field assignments at various locations, including internationally ...at project locations
• Excellent command of German (spoken and written); knowledge of English is an asset
